The Global Zero Summit, February 2-4, 2010, will bring together 200 international political, military, business, and faith leaders for strategy talks on the phased elimination of all nuclear weapons and for the launch of the next phase of our global campaign to build public and political support for this agenda. The Summit will take place at the Le Grand InterContinental Hotel in Paris, beginning at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 2nd and concluding at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 4th. The 2010 Paris Summit promises to be a catalytic event in the lead-up to President Obama’s April summit on nuclear security and the May Non-Proliferation Treaty Review Conference. 


UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon to speak

UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon announced his participation as a speaker, stating that, “I will spare no effort in engaging with governments and civil society. In January, I will attend the First Session of the Conference on Disarmament in Geneva. In February, I will attend the Global Zero Summit in Paris. In April, I will attend the Summit on Nuclear Security in Washington. These events will help create momentum for the May Review Conference.”

Student Summit

Thirty student leaders from around the world were selected from 450 applicants to participate in the Global Zero Summit. Students will arrive in Paris the evening of January 30 and participate in a two-day student leader retreat before joining the full Global Zero Summit. At the Summit, the students will work alongside Global Zero leaders to chart a course for an international public campaign for Zero.
