About

The Office for National Statistics (ONS) is the executive office of the UK Statistics Authority, a non-ministerial department which reports directly to Parliament. ONS is the UK Government's single largest statistical producer.

The ONS produces independent information to improve our understanding of the UK's economy and society. The ONS believes that reliable and impartial statistics are vital for planning the proper allocation of resources, policy-making and decision-making to ensure a fair society.
