UN Human Development Report 2008.png
This page will supply some databases related to health. From these data, it will be possible to make statistical treatments to establish by country regions, or continents, typical profiles about health of populations. For example, the human development index is a reference to estimate health level in a country. You can find the HDI rankings and compare countries with a high, medium or low human development index. You can also download this file : HDI rankings since 1980 to 2006. Or look this page : Human Development Index, 1975-2005 - Ranked Highest to Lowest in 2005. As on overview of health profil by countries or years, detailed database search of WHO will give information about health service coverage or mortality and burden of disease. Those indicators are necessary to estimate the state part in health expenditure, or causes of mortality. Likewise, to measure countries profiles about health, the Health Data 2008 from OECD is really interesting. It consists of diverse indicators such as health expenditure or health status (mortality). Moreover, about regional data, you can find table about health in Europe : data explorer for structural indicators on health. You can also obtain the table of life expectancy by age, sex, country and year. This index is interesting to made comparison between countries, or to base a study.
