Center for Environment Technology and Development
The Center for Environment, Technology and Development is a non-profit, training, research, consultancy, referral, and development organization. It is committed to improving environmental quality through the appropriate use of technology and sustainable development founded in 1985.
Air Pollutant Index (API)
The API is an indicator of air quality and was developed based on scientific assessment to indicate in an easily understood manner, the presence of pollutants and its impact on health. The API system of Malaysia closely follows the Pollutant Standard Index (PSI) developed by the United States Environmental Protection Agency (US-EPA).
UNDP Human Development Report-2011
The Human Development Index represents a push for a broader definition of well-being and provides a composite measure of three basic dimensions of human development: health, education and income. According to the United Nations Development Programme's Human Development Report 2011 Malaysia's HDI is 0.761, which gives the country a rank of 61 out of 187 countries with comparable data. The HDI of East Asia and the Pacific as a region increased from 0.428 in 1980 to 0.671 today, placing Malaysia above the regional average [1]

Happiness in Malaysia
This is an overview of findings on Happiness in Malaysia[2].The available findings are presented in the latest ‘Nation Report’ on Malaysia [3]. This report is ordered by type of happiness questions and within these types by year. This ordering is to facilitate the assessment of progress, comparison over time being most fruitful using the same questions.
The report presents means and standard deviations, both on the original scale range and transformed to a common range 0-10. The means inform about the level of happiness in the country and the standard deviations about inequality of happiness.
Links provide more detail about the precise text of the question, the full distribution of responses and technical details of the survey. The report is continuously updated.
