Global Footprint Network is thrilled to announce our second Partner Network Conference, Footprint Forum: Meet the Winners of the 21st Century , in Colle di Val d’Elsa, Italy, just outside of Siena, Italy.

'WHAT: Footprint Forum 2010 - Meet the Winners of the 21st Century will be a highly interactive forum designed to create the kind of learning and idea-sharing that will strengthen corporate strategy, support government innovation, advance human development, and move the sustainability agenda forward in a time of increased ecological limits. Through a diverse line-up of sessions, the Forum will allow you to share your best practices and ideas, as well as learn how other amazing individuals are using the Ecological Footprint in innovative and impactful ways. Now, more than ever, there is a need for innovative, breakthrough ideas – and our upcoming Forum will be designed to stimulate just that.

WHO: A cross-section of participants will be gathering from around the world -- all with the common mission of creating a society where all people can live well, within the means of our planet. The Forum will allow academics to share the latest in Ecological Footprint research; NGOs to discuss the latest innovations in personal behavior change; development agencies to explore what is needed to pull people out of poverty while preserving natural capital; governments to discuss how to maintain a competitive economy during a time of resource scarcity; and corporations to gain an understanding of how to build a robust business strategy that will withstand ecological pressures.

WHY: From resource scarcity to the economic crisis, the world is ready for systemic change and there has never been a greater need for breakthrough ideas and new cross-sector collaboration. We will not be coming together to rehash old thinking or revisit traditional strategies; rather, Footprint Forum is designed to move our sustainability work to the next level of effectiveness and scale.
