Article Name
Table of Contents (TOC) is automatically generated from the section headings (when you have 4+ headings)
Content
Headings organize your writing into sections.
New articles are preformatted with the following Headings:
These are suggested headings. For the main title (Title 1), this is generally used for "Background". "History", or "Overview".
(Title 2) is an example of Heading Size 3, which is generally used for sub-sections.
The See also section is generally after the body of the article and is a place to link to other pertinent articles within Wikigender.org.
References allow for footnotes and full bibliographical references to be linked to inline citations. Please see our referencing page for details.
External links is a section for links to other website on the topic of the article.
How to Link
Thre are two main types of links in wikiarticles
- internal links to other pages in wikiprogress:
To create an internal link in wikitext simply surround the article name with two brackets on each side. Make sure to use the underscore symbol ( _ ) in place of spaces (see below)
- external links to other websites
To create an external link in wikitext, see format below.
Alternatively, if you are not in wikitext you can simply hyperlink using the hyperlink logo on the tool bar.
Please use both internal and external links throughout the content of your article.
Images
To add an image to an article you must first upload it to wikiprogress. Click Upload file to the left of your screen, under the heading "toolbox". See a list of prefered and prohibited files. Upload your file here then return to your article. Click on the add image icon and type in the name of the file.
How do I add a click-thru image?
To add a click through image, first find the name of the image. Next, edit your page in Wikitext and enter the information regarding the image and the link in the following format:

Templates
To use a template in the Rich Text Editor click the, then under the "Manual" tab, you will find a listing. Names used are shown in wikitext below.

References and Citations
Cite sources when:
- adding or restoring material that is challenged or likely to be challenged,
- quoting someone, with or without quotation marks, or closely paraphasing a source,
- summarizing source material in your own words, in order to give credit to the source of your ideas,
- uploading an image.
Citing sources:
- ensures that content can be checked by any reader or editor, which improves the credibility of Wikiprogress,
- shows that your edit is not original research, plagiarism, or a copyright violation,
- ensures that material about living persons complies with the biography of living persons policy,
- helps readers find additional information.[1]
When you need to reference, insert after the phrase you need to reference.[2] A box (see below) called Reference Properties will appear and you should enter the full reference here.
It is generally accepted to use APA or MLA citation format. There are forms for creating these online:www.lib.ncsu.edu/citationbuilder/, or, in order to save your own list of references, use Microsoft Word source builder.
At the end of the country pages article (after See Also and/or External Links section[s]), create a heading (Heading Size 2) called "References" and insert theTo insert multiple references to the same source, use the "Reference Name (optional)" box after inserting the full reference above for the first time.[3] The second occasion you wish to cite the same source, simply type the Reference Name shortcut in the Reference Name box and click okay. See the footnote below.[3]

A reference list (see below) will appear once you have saved the article. Referencing your article is very important. If you have any questions, do not hestitate to contact info@wikiprogress.org.

Category
There is no heading for Category. Please see wikiprogress topics as a guide for categories. If you add a category that does not already exisit, it will appear in red. Cateogories are an important was of allowing users to find your article. If your article is related to a particular country, please use the country name as the category.
