Hybrid Wind/PV/Systems and Micro Grids Fundamentals - extended will be held February 14th - 18th, 2011, in Berlin, Germany.
Overview
The course covers hybrid wind/PV/systems and micro grids, focusing on the technologies, system design, case studies, market development, regional trends and economics. Lectures are supplemented by demonstrations and practical exercises in RENAC’s Training Center in Berlin.
The course teaches the fundamentals of hybrid renewable-energy systems. The emphasis lies on understanding the various technologies, estimating economic benefits, project planning and the interaction of system components such as small wind plants, PV modules and batteries.
Practical exercises complement the theoretical material to ensure an optimal learning outcome.
Purpose
- At the end of the five-day course you should have a fundamental understanding of wind power, PV, power storage using batteries and inverters in hybrid systems.
- You should know about typical applications in the context of rural electrification and off-grid power supplies.
- You should be able to carry out the essential steps for the planning of hybrid systems.
- You will be able to do initial designs of hybrid system using easily comprehensible software, to simulate the power generation costs of different technical variants and have an overview of different software programs.
