4th OECD World Forum on "Statistics, Knowledge and Policy 

The 4th OECD World Forum on "Statistics, Knowledge and Policy will be taking place on 16-19 October 2012, in New Delhi, India. The goal of the 4th OECD World Forum is to share results and lessons learned from work undertaken by the OECD and other organisations, and to give impetus to concrete measurement programmes based on existing national and regional statistical capacities, mechanisms and tools.

In October 2012, the OECD will organise, jointly with the Government of India, the 4th OECD World Forum on "Statistics, Knowledge and Policy". Building on its three predecessors, the main focus will be on taking stock of world-wide initiatives on measuring well-being and progress and on promoting the use of new measures for policy-making in developed, emerging and developing countries. The four-day Forum will gather around 1,000 participants, from national statistical offices, government agencies, academia and civil society. It will include a combination of keynote speeches, round tables, and themed sessions on material conditions, quality of life, gender & life course perspectives, and sustainability. It has been designed using the conclusions of a number of regional conferences on measuring well-being and fostering the progress of societies that the OECD has organised in association with the OECD Development Centre, PARIS21 and regional actors. The Latin-American Conference took place in Mexico City, Mexico in May 2011 and the Asia-Pacific Conference took place in Tokyo, Japan in December 2012. The African Conference will take place in Rabat, Morocco in April 2012 and the European Conferencewill take place in Paris, France in June 2012.
