Title - Knowledge and understanding in Kosovo
Measuring the progress in education and training is very useful in building the policies in related fields (employment, education and training capacities, etc).
Kosovo is in a very specific political situation, the country is building its institutions and the level and quality of education, overall knowledge and understanding is of high importance. Human capacities are crucial on how fast the country will progress in order to meet the standards of International Organizations where it intends to get membership.
The population in Kosovo is one of the youngest in the world with a median age of approximately 26 years, as such, the education and training affects a great part of country’s population.

According to one of the most influential contemporary contributions to thinking about progress (Sen’s “capabilities approach), education and knowledge together with other dimensions like good health, personal safety, etc, are factors that increase our capability to achieve well-being. An increase in level and quality of education will also improve physical and mental health; better understanding of politics, interpersonal relationships, material well-being, longevity and also it will contribute in the reduction of the criminality rate, drug abuse and poverty.
