UNDP Human Development Trends- 2011
The Human Development Index represents a push for a broader definition of well-being and provides a composite measure of three basic dimensions of human development: health, education and income. According to the United Nations Development Programme's Human Development Report 2011 Austria's HDI is 0.885, which gives the country a rank of 19 out of 187 countries with comparable data. The HDI of OECD as a region increased from 0.749 in 1980 to 0.873 today, placing Austria above the regional average[1]

The Austrian Business Council for Sustainable Development is Austria‘s leading platform for Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Sustainable Development. The association emerged in October 2007 from the fusion of the Austrian Business Council for Sustainable Development (ABCSD) and respACT austria.
The Austrian Business Council for Sustainable Development is convinced that economic success cannot be separated from social and ecological responsibility. They embrace their responsibility towards the marketplace as well as regarding their employees, society and the environment.
