Focus on Child Health - Riche Project joins Wikichild
The Research Inventory of Child Health in Europe - RICHE is a project funded by the European Commission to create an inventory of child health research in Europe, in order to identify gaps and thus provide a plan for future directions in research. The project has some 30 European child health experts directly involved, covering many different interests and areas of expertise.
Wikichild is pleased to welcome the RICHE project and looks forward to their contributions on child health.
ASCD Whole Child joins Wikichild with expertise on education and curriculum development
New to Wikichild, the global education leadership organisation, ASCD (formerly the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development) has been based around the philosophy of the Whole Child since 2007. They believe that education should be redefined to ensure that it develops the whole of the child - socially, emotionally, physically, civically as well as cognitively. These five key words are their tenets and along with the accompanying indicators provide the scaffold for developing the potential of each child.

The Sustainable Society Index website: measuring “Sustainability at a Glance”
The Sustainable Society Index website (www.ssfindex.com) has recently been expanded and further improved. The spider web on the homepage shows at a glance how each country is doing in terms of sustainability. Together, the 24 indicators offer a realistic picture of a country’s level of sustainability. Navigate around the site to find more interesting information and don’t forget to take a free ride on the Sustainability Tour. The next update of the SSI will be published by the end of this year. To be informed directly, contact info@ssfindex.com.
Committing the French presidential candidates to constructing well-being indicators
The France-based think-tank La Fabrique Spinoza recently released its SPINOZA PACT. Observing that, since the Stiglitz-Sen-Fitoussi report in February 2009, French politicians have shown moderate interest or given mild support to well-being indicators adapted to France, the Spinoza Pact is asking the French Presidential candidates to sign the Pact and formally commit to the actual construction of such well-being indicators, as well as to their effective use in the policy-making process.

The American Development Project’s Measure of America was proud to launch A Portrait of Marin: Marin County Human Development Report 2012 in January 2012. This report is the first-ever human development report for a US county.
Measure of America staff also co-authored a recent article in Community Development Investments Review: "Metrics Matter: A Human Development Approach to Measuring Social Impact," drawing on the Measure of America's work and on international development literature to propose a model for assessing the impacts of community development investing.
